Volunteering in Europe

We love to meet people, and whilst on the road, it’s important to us that Ethan interacts with other children, and new cultures.

So we found Workaway. Workaway is a volunteering website tailored to people just like us. People post their projects on the website. These projects can be anywhere from helping to build a vegetable garden to building yurts in the middle of nowhere.

Terry and my main aim is to learn how to become self sustainable and what better way to do it by helping others do the same! Also, the added bonus of having free board and accommodation, so we save some money at the same time.

I have booked some fantastic workaways in Spain and Portugal at the moment which will take us through the next few months. They will be working with some lovely families to help them create their dream life. Most of them are very remote, so it’s great that we installed solar power to provide us with electricity!

We will post on how they work out and what it is like to live another families life for a week or two once we begin our workaway journey!
